Previous contract issue

Peter333

Hi all,

I had to cut short a two year contract in 2004 and return to Australia due to family problems. I am planning to apply for a teaching job this year. Will that previous contract issue be a problem? A cause for likely rejection? If I get the job, that is. Also, I am sixty - is age an issue?

To cut short your previous job, no matter whatever could be the reason shouldn’t be an issue, if you had discussed with your employer and convinced them the reason of leaving them. So, if they didn’t have any issue at their end nor they had complained at MoM, then you no need to worry.

Age for teaching profession is not defined but above 60yrs of age is certainly at wrong side but you should apply directly to those public schools or international institutions here. I assume that previously you must have teaching experience in Australia or elsewhere. Good luck
