The lessons of the crisis in Singapore

³¢´Çﳦ

Hello everyone,

While there is still a certain amount of uncertainty in our lives, the situation seems to be beginning to change in Singapore and globally.
We have had to show courage, tenacity and even ingenuity in many areas, in the way we work, in being alone or with our families, in how we look after our children, or we channel our stress and emotions in the face of this health crisis that has turned our daily lives upside down.
We wanted to hear your feedback on these last few months in Singapore.

What will you remember from this very special period?

Have these unusual times allowed you discover things about yourselves or your loved ones?

Did this period lead you to make changes in your lifestyle that you would like to maintain in the future? If so, which ones?

How do you plan for the future in Singapore? Have the last few weeks caused you to review your priorities or certain projects?

Thank you for your contribution and take care of yourself,

Well it is been tough time for single °µÍø½ûÇøs. I am sure others have hard time as well, yet for us it is not great, often we rent rooms or smaller places. Now that we have to stick at our rooms life is very boring.

Also yes Singapore is putting a lot of effort and all for covid fight which is great. Yet some of the communication and policies such as for work permit holders we cannot travel inbound to Singapore even if we have work and home here has not gone down so well with few of my fellow °µÍø½ûÇøs who are stranded abroad paying expensive accomodation in singapore for nothing for last months.

Also government communication about counting infections while dividing Singapore citizens/PR infection rates and others is not so great imho.

Last is about work permit issuing blackout, not clear understanding how and if EP's are going to be given out in this time of covid.

Covid has really funny way making us feel like we foreigner as talent are not anymore so welcome as we used be 5-10 years ago.

It wasn't so bad for the first and the first half of the so-called CB, now it's getting bad, mentally and physically for me and my other friends who are single °µÍø½ûÇøs. We thought we could hang in there until June 2nd, but now the introduction of phase 1 has disappointed a lot of us since nothing changes much for °µÍø½ûÇøs in any slight positive way.

The policies are getting confusing and extreme over time without putting into considerations of all factors across different population groups in Singapore. Mental health of people who has been in the house for the last 2 months has been neglected and I've never heard or I could have missed it, that the policy makers mention anything about supporting mental health overall, let alone anything to support the foreigners.

I'm not expecting any full return to normal, but at least some social interaction/gathering with the right measures in place would be nice. TThere's lots of °µÍø½ûÇøs here that live by themselves and don't have families to visit.
