Trees for planting Thailand

Simonbolton

Hi,

Am wanting to buy some trees for when we build our house next year.

Will have between 1-2 rai of land.

Now, I would like some fruit trees, ie coconut, mango, lemon, lime, banana etc.

Can these be bought already mature? and be planted? As I would rather they bear fruit sooner rather than later.

I know coconut trees can take 5-10 years to bear, and mango 3-5 years, but can i buy one that will bear quicker.??

Hello Simon,

You'll find this information on the Thai website, but based on our own plantations, it takes 3 or 4 years for a mango tree, 6 years for a coconut tree (preferably choose a variety that doesn't grow too tall!), and the fastest are lemon and banana trees. All of this obviously varies depending on the soil, climate, care (i.e., pheromones), and the gardener's expertise!

Another tip is to buy them from a garden center. Enjoy !
