we've been in Tland since Oct 2010
we've made the Laos & Mai Sai visa runs

our 6 month extension is comin up

we've been told we can't renew in Chiang Mai for 1900B for 1 month anymore , it is only for a week

does anyone know about this

Supposedtly you should get 3 months in each extension since you are from the US ( certain countries have a "special treat" from thai authorities )

Im guessing you have gone to Lao and Mai Sai just once, so you can go there a second time. ( you will not be able to repeat a third time, they have reinforced that rule and you will just get 15 days if you attempt to do so)

Best bet, fly out to Kuala Lumpur re-apply for a new visa, but this time ask for a double entry. So you can re-extend it by first going to the immigration office ( once the two or three months have expired) and after the new months, you can just fly out and in again to get more months.

Also you could either get a new passport from your embassy ( so that overrides the law "of two entries of lao or cambodia no visa") or just contract a company were they do the visa for you, and you could possibly ask for a Non-B visa where u get three month extension, multi entry and after 2 months you can聽 ( the company can too) apply for the year visa.
