Kawasaki were the first reasonably priced big bikes several years ago and they were everywhere.  Chiang Mai has a dealership where I bought my Ninja 650.  You should be able to find it through a Google search.  Now days there are many more options so you may not see as many.

I've been scouting "Kaidee.com". my best option for a decent performing machine within my budget estimate is the Honda CB300F (2nd hand). I have found 2nd hand examples throughout Thailand for as little as 56k baht. as I have mentioned the factors I am looking for in my bike/scooter of choice are as follows (budget = 70K baht [median], 100K baht [max, w/wiggle room]):

displacement 300cc (250 with high performance specs like the Kawasaki Z250)
large tank for long touring range (<11 Liter)

I am drawn to the SYM Joymax 300i/400i, but I can have the same level of performance with the CB300F for around 20K baht less. i can live with the manual clutch.
