I need an International Driver Permit

Seeking advice on obtaining an International Driver Permit in HCMC, Vietnam for car rentals in Italy and Greece. Suggestions welcome!

Hello All,

I have a valid New York Drivers License and will be renting a car in Italy and Greece in 2 months. I have been living in Vn for the past 9 years and have a TRC. I would like to obtain an IDP (here in Vietnam) before I leave for Europe.聽 I understand that Vietnam can issue one for me if I have a Permanent Resident Card in Vn; unfortunately, I only have a temporary RC.聽 So I assume Vn cannot issue one for me and I will have to get one issued by AAA in the USA and have it sent to me in HCMC.

Does that sound right?聽 Does anyone know of an agent or service who specializes in getting this permit to me here in HCMC, after I complete the necessary application form?
