Common songs known in VN for Karaoke

Dannyroc3

On a number of occasions, I find myself in a situation where the Karaoke microphone is passed to me but with the exception of Hotel California, I cant think of any songs they might know.

What Western songs might be a good choice that VN folks will know?

VN people know "Hotel California"? I'm surprised.

There are two songs I can think of where they'll know the tune, but I'm not sure they'd know the English lyrics.

"I'm My Own Grandpa" is well known here, using VN lyrics. As far as I can tell it's a direct translation from Eng to VN.

There's also a VN song which uses the music from a western song, but the lyrics are not telling the same story. That song would be "Love Potion Number 9". (I've had VN people telling me that that's a VN song😀)

Love You More Than I Can Say.

Because I Love You.

Careless Whisper.

Papa.

Jude.

That's Why You Go Away.

Last Christmas.

My Girl.

Casablanca.

Those are just a few. There are more but I just can't recall at the moment.

Some songs that work well for me:

"Can't Help Falling in Love"

"It's Now or Never"

"Hound Dog"

"Oh Boy!"

"That'll Be The Day"

"Country Roads"

"Blue Suede Shoes"

"Twist & Shout"

"Kansas City"

"She's A Lady"

"Misty"

I always politely decline when passed the microphone, explaining that I sing like a bird. A rooster.

Talking about roosters. You could always sing "Little Red Rooster" One could argue that Howlin' Wolf didn't have much of a singing voice, but still so good. Haha! Seems that a lot of the titles suggested so far are from the 50s, 60s and 70s. So Bob Dylan also comes to mind. He's never been a good singer, but still so powerful. Best of luck!

" You are A Woman " by Bad Boys Blue or songs by Modern Talking band are also good options  Â
