Glad to be coming to Vietnam....

johnnywastaken

Hi All...
My name is johnny... I'm an American °µÍø½ûÇø currently living in Jakarta Indonesia... however one can only take so much of that... So I'm planning on moving to Vietnam because it's always been one of my favorite countries...

I love this forum as it is a wealth of information... many of my queries have already been answered just by scanning the posts... and I thank you all for that...

First on my agenda is finding a safe place to live...
Perhaps someone can answer me if shared accommodation is more prevalent between °µÍø½ûÇøs as opposed to living alone in HCMC..?
I realize that it would depend on budget... which I'm ok with on my own but I'm thinking by having a room mate.... I would have someone to talk with and bounce ideas off...

Anyway... I'm pumped about moving to Vietnam...:)

Hi Johnny,

Plenty of °µÍø½ûÇøs share accommodation both for keeping costs down and also for some company.
As to areas to live a lot of it depends on where you are working and how far you want to commute. Also a lot depend son your job and hours you work.
I have a 22km commute but it doesn't bother me as it still take me less time to travel than when I was working 8km away.

Hi... and thanks...
I guess this will take up the first part when I arrive... I'll be looking for an apartment that's conducive to where I hang out...not necessarily work... If I do work...
Actually I don't mind commutes...because there is always cool things to see along the way...or usually...Cheers !!

Hi and Thank you...
To answer your question of why I love Vietnam... is because after living in various countries in SE Asia... Vietnam always struck me as Industrious... unspoiled...(Still)...and the people of Vietnam express a more willingness to embrace the English language more than anywhere I've lived....not to mention the food is outstanding too... guess what jjk.nguyen...?  we are friends... :)
