Four n Twenty Pies....

Panadol

Does any one know the VN distibutor, for frozen Four n Twenty pies from Oz..... Sometimes I'm just hanging out for a pie!
Over the last few years, I  took many a trip to Danang,(for a pie n chips) at Bamboo bar 2 on Bach Dang St, or the Billabong bar, (Both, good bars in Danang, cold piss and good food), but last time I went there, I REALLY needed a pie.... Both of the 2 bars I like, didn't have any(sold out I guess)
.... Went to the 'Mini Mart' next door to the Billabong Bar, and bought a box of 24 frozen, four n twenty pies, for............. One point eight Million (1.8m)..... That's 24pies x 75,000vnd.
I don't want to sell the bastard things, once and a while, I like to ride up to Danang, have pie and chips at either of the 2 bars, few beers and ride back to Hoi An....
And, I'd love to have a 'backup' box of pies in the freezer...... A few places in Hoi An do a great pie... And, I buy them... But I grew up on 'Four n Twenty' pies.... I've got a big freezer, and a nasty, rough, Sanaky bench top oven...... But, the pies at 1.8m for a box of 24... Is a bit/lot to steep.
Any help, or frozen food importers, you think I should try?
All idea's appreciated.

I hear you friend.......watching the replies in this thread with interest as well.

Need to source some pies before the footy season starts next month.

Thinking of that need to also source a venue to view or way to get the AFL.......

Yep a decent pie with a cold beer is a thing of joy. I showed her indoors how to make Melton Mobray pork pies last year and we ran a couple of batches up before Christmas. They were pretty good but not quite like the real thing. Likewise, we ran a couple of batches of snake n pygmy pies, which were good, but not as good as a Fray Bentos snake n pygmy pie in a tin.

She said that the MM pork pies were a bit too "porky" for her liking, which was a bit of an eye opener since, as she is Vietnamese she eats the equivalent of a couple of large porkers per year. Anyway, now she makes pork and mushroom pies which are very nice, especially with a bit of Branstone pickle

I think the best snake n kidney puddings I ate were from the army composite ration packs in the late 60's and  early 70's - we used to call them "babies heads". Memories....

So yeah, if anyone knows where there is a supplier for decent pies please share the info and I'll be doing a dawn raid. Or a pre lunch purchasing visit anyway.
