Meeting people, getting support and help.

Im travelling to Cambodia to visit my son, then I want to come to vietnam to teach. I already have experience tour guiding and teaching french students in southwest England.

Ive always wanted to visit Vietnam and I have nothing to rush home for, for a while, if ever.

I am bringing my certificates, references from the language school and immigrants who Ive helped in England privately, plus a police check.

I just have to sort out my visa, do I need to visit the Vietnamese embassy in pnohm penh?, or can I get one in advance from here.

Does anyone want to befriend me and guide me?

Thanks in advance for any help
Kind thoughts
Nicole

It should be possible to do it either way. The important point is that you need to arrange a visa before arriving and state your intended date of arrival. You can come after this date but not before. So, it seems to depend on how certain you are sure about your itinerary. It's also possible to arrange it online these days (e-visa).

I would just get the tourist visa in Phnom Penh. It was a few years ago, and the guard outside handled it, I didn't even go inside. Stopped tuktuk, dropped off passport warily; next day pulled up in tuktuk, guard came over with it and I paid, don't remember how much, tipped him a little.

If you are british you will not need a visa for any stay under 15 days, just make sure you have your exit flight details with you when you leave or if coming by road state at the border you are returning to Cam. if you want a longer stay you will need a visa and Uk citizens can do it online with visa pick up on arrival at the airport, not sure if you can do it if coming by road though
