Rice and pulses availability

Saipatnaik

Hey guys. I'm visiting Vietnam soon. Just want to know if I can get rice and other pulses to cook for myself. I'm a vegeterian and how expensive they are.
Is Danang a good place to stay since I have some friends in Danang. Thank you.

Hi,

You get sticky rice and jasmine rice here (not the Indian variety). You will also be able to find pulses like moong, chauli and rajma. However, in Ho Chi Minh, there is a World food store which has a lot of items from Indian grocery. You will find Basmati rice and almost all Indian pulses there, plus other items like Gits dosa batter, spices, atta, etc. You get almost all Indian vegetables here, so don't worry. The prices are almost the same as in India. If you buy from World food store, it's quite expensive.

And to your 2nd question, Danang is the third largest city in Vietnam in terms of population. It has beautiful beaches. You will find a lot of Indians there. It also has some Indian restaurants.
