Best Pho??

Rob29

Hey guys,

Just wanted to explore more Pho restaurants in the city and wondered what people's favourites were?

I am a big fan of Pho Le on Nguyen Trai street but I have been told there are even better places....

Thanks,

Is Pho Le in D5? If so, then that one is the best :)  There is also a good one across from citimart in d1 (nguyen trai)

Another good one i found is in d3 on Le Van Sy Street near the churches.  It's always busy and the taste of the pho is great!  I cannot remember the name, but if you travel up le van sy, past the first christian/catholic church you will see it on your left hand side.  It is a big restaurant. 50k per bowl

You know there actually are many other good Pho restaurant but most of them are on the street and have no specific nameeee. So the best is make friends with some vnemse, then tell them to take you to their favorite spots . :)))))

Hi,
One more Pho store where is very closed my place. Its very busy everyday. You can refer to the below link:
Lô A 14 Nguyễn Đình Chiểu (25 Hoàng Sa), Quận 1, TP. HCM

For me, the best phở in HCMC with taste of phở Hà Nội is Phở Bò Phú Gia (146E Lý Chính Thắng, P. 7, Quận 3, TP. HCM ). You can eat here only after 06:00 PM.

as taste is subjective can you guys also describe what you considered to be great.

for me, the broth is most important. should be filled out beef bone flavours. I prefer thicker noodles rather than the thin type. quality beef would be a bonus, should be cut nice and thin though.

the best broth I have found so far is near the back packers area, corner of Do Quang Dau across from the park. though 60k for a bowl is a little bit on the pricey side.

I can't say which one is the best.
But for those who prefer Northern taste, I recommend Phở Phương.

What differentiate Phở Phương with other phở restaurants in Ho Chi Minh city is that: it makes bánh phở on its own, and focus on Northern taste while most of others buy bánh phở from somewhere and focus on Southern taste. Bánh phở (banh pho) is the noodle used in pho dish.

I can’t say that I understand a lot about Northern and Southern taste, but one thing I can say is: Southern taste is much sweeter than Northern taste.

I personally trust that Phở Phương really passionate to make their phở, their restaurant better and better to serve customers. That they really pay efforts to make it good and clean. Although they still use msg – which I don’t prefer to eat (due to health concern), but it lessen. (I know it since I worked there, for fun, in 1.5 days). It’s a place you should come if you want to try an authentic Vietnamese food – the real phở.

Its address is no.6, road no. 35, Binh An ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh city.
Phone no: 0903 033 338.
Email: dinhdung572203@yahoo.com

How go get there: go along Tran Nao street, turn into “Đường số 33″ (means road no. 33), it is next to no. 276 – 278, Tran Nao street and “Đền Thờ Ông Quan Thánh Đế Quan” (a temple), then go straight, until you see the restaurant at the right side.
