You'll be arriving just in time for te annual monsoon.

Stock up with flashlights, candles, matches, and other emergency supplies like bottled gas, containers of water, kettle, etc.

It really is an experience and lasts until October / November.

When you visit Cao Dai Beach, please be careful of the beach directly opposite the intersection of the Hoi An Road and the Da Nang Road.

If there are two tatty looking red flags, the colour of the national flag, t means the risk of drowning is very high from the under tow.

The locals and the hotels like to downplay the risk. Ask yourself why the local Peoples Committee erected a warning sign, in English, warning of the risk.

The beach pubs/restaurants on the sands at Cao Sai are really great, nothing better than eating fresh caught sea fish accompanied by a beer.

As you approach this intersection, there is a parking racket. A man, dressed like a policeman without badges, tries to get you to park in his parking lot. Just yell Victoria at him and cycle on.

There is minimal Foreigner schooling in Hoi An, not much in Da Nang, either.

To the outh of Hoi An there are some historic sites worth day trips.

Also, around Da Nang, there are the Marble Mountains, Hai Van Pass, and a national park.

Four hours nooth, by road or rail, is the former imperial city of Hue. Well worth a weekend.
