Giving birth in Vietnam and obtaining UK passport

My Vietnamese wife is wanting to give birth in a HCMC hospital. I have a UK passport and I would like to know what documents are required to submit to the UK embassy in HCMC to process the child's UK passport. How difficult is this process and how long does it take ?

Any pitfalls to be aware off ?

I have just seen your post.聽 I hope all went well with the birth etc. How are you getting on with the U.K paperwork? The聽 reason I am asking is that I have been through this twice now in Vietnam and may be able to offer some advice. I am from the U.K and am married to a Vietnamese lady and we have 2 children here.
