Valid Korean visa on old PH passport

laviesaigon

Hey everyone,

I am planning to fly to Seoul, South Korea from HCMC end of April. I have a multiple-entry visa to Korea valid until December 2019; however, this was issued in my old Philippine passport which expired last August 2018. I currently have a new passport.

I have inquired both with the Korean Embassy in the Philippines and the Korean Tourism Organization and was assured that my Korean visa is still valid and will be accepted even if it is in my old passport. However, the Korean Consulate in Vietnam insists I need to apply for a new visa.

The Korean Tourism Organization advised me to inform the Korean consulate in HCMC that as per the Korean Embassy in the Philippines, my visa is still valid.

Has anyone here had the same issue before and were you able to fly out from HCMC to Seoul? I don't really have any more time to apply for a new visa.

Any information will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

If you have TRC in Vietnam then easy, go to Korean consulate in HCM and submit both passports with Visa application or follow the staff instructions,  you will get the exact answer.

Thanks, planning to go there tomorrow with both passports, but also visa application form in case. Though I am not sure I will get it in time given the holidays.
