Julien,  thanks for the invitation.  I’m currently living in Wildwood Crest, NJ, a shore town. My nickname comes from skippering over a dozen bareboat charters with family and friends in the BVI over forty + years.  My wife and I LOVE the BVI!

We are both in our 70s in reasonable health, but physically- just don’t want to do it anymore.  We spent the last 4 years designing and finishing a 4 BR 3 Bath modular house-  while moving 4 times- to replace our family’s little bungalow so there was room for our 2 kids and 5 grandkids and friends. Since moving here our few friends have become virtual and our two kids live such entirely different lifestyles they don’t come together.

We are working on a plan to find a  rental for 3 months, April thru June,  to decide if it is really for us without sailing around. It has also been six years since we’ve been to the BVI. We are looking at Tortola and Jost van Dyke. If we like it we would get a visa and continue renting hopefully till, at least I come home as ashes in 10 years. The rental needs to be 2BR,  minimal steps,  WIFI,  walking distance to the beach and swimming, in a social area,  and walking distance to a social bar.

That’s a long intro, but hopefully other members can provide dome valuable feedback. Thanks!

Julien
