San Ramon - we want to retire

natalilevasseur

Hi my name is Natali - and my husband and I are  from Alberta Canada and we would  like to buy a house in San Ramon and to live there 6 months a year. What is the best way to find a house we are looking for a three bedroom and if possible a pool. And we would love to know more about San Ramon and the °µÍø½ûÇø community. Cheers! Natali

@natalilevasseur ......This is not very hard ! For every 5 North Americans arriving in San Ramon to live, there is 5 leaving and selling everything. Just show up and ask, you will saturated with leads on property/houses to buy.

i agree that a large percentage of people who want to live in paradise do not stay long term

however the main problem is having the right expectations and making sure of not getting a bad deal on renting or buying or making the wrong location

after 32 years of living here when every thing was cheap the country is no longer cheap and areas outside of escazu and santa ana are having increased crime

crime is increasing every country according to the media so the most important decision is making sure you are safe and when i read that the ultra rich in beverly hills are becoming victims of crime than maybe costa rica is better than many places

as to those people who fail to understand resale of property here is not easy then they need to make sure they made the right purchase at the right price and also they intend to live there long term

the smart decision is to find an appraiser with real references who is not in the circle of real estate agents

Hello everyone,

Please note that I have put aside some posts that could potentially confuse the initiator.

1 - Members, specially professionals should not use the platform to promote their services

2-  Members should not attack each other on opinions expressed.

3- We are looking for genuine experience from °µÍø½ûÇø members who live or have lived in San Ramon.

Thank you in advance for your comprehension,

Bhavna

Does anyone live in the Tamarindo area and want to share your experiences?   I'm moving there soon, and I would love to learn about the °µÍø½ûÇø community there, especially from Canada

@johncrossley1 .....In general, the °µÍø½ûÇø community anywhere in Costa Rica is rigid and full of cliques...Many will hint around about your financial portfolio to categorize you......

@Bhavna

Thank you for this, no need for incivility.
