I see more negative information about DR then usual. I realize that its not the same as living in the US, Europe, Canada or Brazil, but it is a different country different cultures and different traditions, The people are loud and festive sometimes that can be taken as rude or not educated, But if it bothers you that much there is always an option to leave! I see a barrage of negative sometime hateful things here about DR, I know it has its fair share of problems as a poor country but the whole world can not be like our home country. If it really is that bad there is always a flight leaving! You have chosen to be there so you might want to look at the positive in your current situation in a different country. Just seems like a lot of whining lately. There is homelessness poverty, mental health issues, and crimes in the whole world not just DR. There are rude drivers in every country and there are uneducated people everywhere. If you knew this was an issue for you perhaps you should have chosen a different country to reside in? Sorry but it seems like the negativity is out of control. There is always Aruba!

Very well said you do have to have a mindset it's a different country different culture growing up in New York I had the opportunity to live around Dominicans and I have to say it prepared me for living here now I speak fluent Spanish and able to move around freely but my mindset聽聽changed I. I have a lovely girlfriend that supports me dear heartedly and helps me get through the bad times when I'm feeling like I miss home but I learned to embrace the country and the culture which helps get you through the times you're in a dump it and homesick
