Internet Options

What's the best pay as you go internet option? Sometimes we need a mobile internet connection for the guest house that is too far from out internet. I'd like the option to have an altice or Claro  'hub/fob' that keeps  guests connected...but this only happens every once in a while... suggestions?

Is your guest house in unobstructed sight of your main house ?

Ian1272

If your guest house in unobstructed site, you can use whats called a point to point wireless bridge.

When you hook up a wireless bridge your guest house would enjoy exactly the same internet and speed what your main hose enjoys 24/7 without having to have two paid internet subscriptions.

Hope this is of help :)

I believe Claro has a portable wi-fi hotspot.  It's a small device about the size of a cell phone that provides cell service, and devices can connect to it by wi-fi.  I believe this is it:

I saw a guy in the Claro store in Sosua one day... here for a couple months.  He used one of these hotspots instead of getting a SIM put in his phone.  He said it was easier.  He just carries the hotspot in his pocket and when he wants on the internet, he connects his phone to it.  It was prepaid.
