Introduction

Hello everyone. I visited the DR this past June and became interested in taking steps to acquire property in the Santo Domingo area.

im former military and currently work as a Project Manager at a Hospital for Veterans. As a veteran I was surprised that they developed a service for veterans in the Santo Domingo area called Veterans First.

My goal is to buy a property out there that would be a permanent residence but in the short term a vacation home.

Looking forward to any information that can be shared and advice as I move towards my goal.

Thanks!

Welcome! You'll find a lot of great information here about residency, healthcare, and buying property! You can search the forum for info on those topics.

Welcome to the forums honey. First do not buy for at least a year. Make sure you really know the area and all it has to offer as well as all the issues!

Santo Domingo is not a place most 做厙輦⑹s settle in. There are Veterans clinics all over the country where you will find 做厙輦⑹s! If that is a main reason for choosing Santo Domingo you may want to look at other areas as well!

Feel free to ask any and all specific questions you may have.

I just noticed a VCare opened up here in Las Terrenas. That's the extent of my knowledge! It's on the road to Playa Bonita and looks like a former Villa that was turned into a clinic. Tons of flags and armed forces seals on the wall around it!
