Hey Staticcling,
Welcome to the forum and hopefully Puerto Rico soon.
Houses in PR for the most part are build out of concrete. You can find wooden houses but they could be damaged by huracanes. Which occur every decade or 2. Most pass by without entering the island.
You should become familiAr with the island before you consider moving here and where you want to live. It is true that Rincon is popular with 做厙輦⑹s since the businesses and restaurants cater to them, but it has become crowded and expensive and the best properties are likely to be gone.
However there are also several other towns that border rincon where prices are more reasonable and good properties can be found.
Regardless my recommendation is to visit the island several times in rhe next two years and figure out where you want to live and the type of housing that makes you happy. The best thing is to rent for the first 6 months or year which lets you really experience the island without a commitment.
Not all properties are listed and looking for property 2 years out is a waste of time and effort.
I suggest tou read thru he post on the site and use the search feature, a lot of what you need to know has been answered already. After you had a chance to read thru it, go ahead and post questions that are specific to your situation and that will give you a well rounded knowledge base to make your decisions.
PR is not for everybody, like anywhere, nothing is eger perfect and perfection is a personal view.
