Question about PR real estate listings

Nicole312

Hi everyone,

What is a rope or a string of land? I am guessing that a rope might be an acre. What are cda's of land? How can you tell if they are just selling the house and not the land?

Thank you

A cuerda as used in Puerto Rico is a measure for land.  It is equivalent to about 3,930 square meters...so about an acre.  If you try to translate through Google or anything like that it will say rope.  Cuerda in most Latin American countries means rope.

A cuerda is almost an acre, the two are so close that it makes little difference. It is a Spanish measurement. See
