Hello Dear Members,

Ive a situation with incorrect family composition in official records.

In the marriage certificate聽 my wife鈥檚 name is mentioned as before and after marriage. I.e., before聽 name+ (her family name) and after marriage name+ (my family name).

Due to this commune is not recognising the marriage and asking us

either get the spouse name changed in passport and other records
or get a apostilled document telling that her her name is not changed after marriage.

Commune - Leuven.

has anybody got into similar situation?

Get One and Same Certificate from Indian Embassy, Legalize it here and Translate it, Submit this docs to commune to update name.

By using the one and same certificate, the commune will understand that both individuals on the passport and the marriage certificate are the same. Therefore, they will accept your marriage certificate and update your wife's name on her Belgian ID based on Passport's name. no needs to change passport, if I understood correctly.
