Could someone help me calculate my net income in Belgium? Thank you!

dressupnine

Hi,

I got a job from Brussels but am wondering if the amount of money I receive will be enough to live on.

Basically, they pay about 3850 euros per month. I tried to compute my first year net income as below. Please let me know if you see if correct or not.

Gross = 3850 * 13 = 50050
Social Security = Gross * 0.1307 = 6542
Personal allowance = 7130

Taxable income = Gross - Social Security - Personal Allowance = 36378

Tax = 10860 * 0.25 + (12470 - 10860) * 0.3 + (20780 - 12470) * 0.4 + (35378.26 - 20780 ) * 0.45 = 13091

Net income = Gross - Social Security - Tax = 30417

Therefore, the net income per month = 30417 / 12 = 2534

Did I do it right? Thank you!!

Hi Dressupnine and welcome to the Forum.

This may help you with your question.

dressupnine

Thank you, Cynic, but this tool does not seem to accurately compute the tax and net income.

The major mistake would be that it includes neither social security nor personal allowances in the computation.

Best,

if you have °µÍø½ûÇø tax then I think it would reach something around 2750-2850, roughly of course.

Thank you, mhmt. I think I am considered a resident. I am a scientific-visa holder...Belgium doesn't pay a scientist very well :-p
