Can I register residence outside my region of work

Kaytom

Hello Pals,

Could somebody please confirm if, I am required by law to register residence only in the region of business i.e. Brussels capital i.e. I am not allowed to live outside Brussels during the duration of the professional card?
Zaventem is close to my workplace, but it's outside the Brussels region.

My professional card got authorized as a British citizen and freelancer to work for an organization in the Brussels Capital.

I have selected a one-stop-shop in Evere commune to collect the professional card on entry to Belgium with Visa D.

The professional card contact in the Region did mention thone-stop shop will refer me to the municipal/commune to get the residence permit.

By the way, though the contract could go on for years, I do not intend to do long stays in Brussels, but will be mainly working from the UK, with shorts stays in Belgium. i.e. less than a month per travel.

I just got my Visa D and it states "Registration at the Municipality mandatory within 8 days of arrival".
So, does that have to be a municipality in Brussels where my work place is OR can I register in another region/commune e.g. Zaventem?

Hi,

Were you able to register in different region than whats mentioned in your work permit?

Hi,

It's no big deal.

My work place is in the Flemish region on the borders with Brussels and my place of residence is in Brussels.

I haven't registered yet honestly, but in my communications with many authorities they saw my address and my place of work follow different regions and haven't made any comments about it.

Thank you @mohanealabib.
