Hello,

No it will not affect your visa process. The new rules are applicable only for work permit applications starting 3rd Jan 2019.. So you should be okay :)

Just got to know that if you have an unlimited contract then your depedant/spouse  also gets unlimited work authroization. this is usually printed at the back of the resident card.

Hi, thanks for the info.
So the spouses of Non-EU employees can start work without obtaining a work permit? I knew that ,in case if the spouse wants to work, they should obtain a work permit B as well. So this is not the case anymore? Any information whether this is also applicable for the whole Belgium or region specific?

Thanks

I just got to know through a friend. He has a unliking work contract and she just came to Belgium and her resident card she got unlimited work authorization printed on her resident card. Check Dofi website.

Best is to goto city hall and check out. It could be case to case.

I see. Thanks for taking time.
However, the web page does not provide more information about whether a spouse can work without any work permit though the ID card brings unlimited work authorization.

Thanks

Goto the city hall and ask. Another friend also confirmed this last Friday
