I have heard that from 2026 it will no longer be possible to come through the airport using your yellow slip instead you must apply for a plastic card. I have tried contacting the immigration office several times to no avail! Does anyone know if this is correct or not? Many thanks

We also tried to change the dog eared yellow slip, but they said no, they won't do it.

You apply to exchange to biometric card..we did ours聽 last October ... As systems are being upgraded to be inline with all other EU members states and to give a better service via e-portals for citizens

Not having it might be problematic for entry and exit through ports.

I was on the permanent resident yellow slip which had no expiry date. Through immigration Paphos I am now in possession of the plastic I. D.

It's not difficult just a bit long winded. Total cost 30 Euro.
