Criminal background check non-UK citizen

Seeking info on obtaining a criminal background check in Cyprus for non-UK citizens. Conflicting details on EU certificate eligibility and procedures.

Hello everyone. I need a criminal background check from Spain but the Embassy is not returning my emails. Have any of you heard that you can go to the Central Police Station in Paphos and get the certificate for all of EU (not just Cyprus). I have heard from one person that I can but another says you have to be an EU citizen. We are legal Spanish residents (active visa), not citizens. The police website says you have to live in Cyprus a minimum of 6 months but that appears to be for a Cyprus background check, not the EU certificate. It is the last step for our application and it is turning out to be the most difficult.聽

I had to go to Paphos Central Police Station for a CRC. It was in connection with my charity work in Cyprus. I am a UK citizen with Cyprus Residency. The procedure was straightforward聽 (cost 20 Euros).

Whether that helps your case I'm not sure but the police would be able to advise you聽 as they were very helpful in my case.
