Paternity Leave

kkj85

Dear folks,

I have got a question on behalf of my friend.

He is a british citizen and  working for a company in UK from the last 8 years. His wife is living back home and due for delivering Twins in September 2017.

Can he take the paternity leave  to visit his wife though his wife is not a UK resident and giving birth back home.

What the law says....Please advise....

Regards

Difficult one; paternity leave is a social benefit in the UK; my advice is to get him to speak to his HR department for some advice; they may have to speak to HMRC (tax office) to check entitlement.

Hope this helps.
