UK spouse visa

Charlie6336

Hello everyone, I am a British citizen living in London.
I am trying to bring my Moroccan wife to live with me, we do have marriage certificate which is given by Moroccan officials. What English test does my wife need to take, do we have to translate marriage certificate and approve it in British embassy, what other documents is needed from my wife and lastly do I have to rent a house/flat or a studio flat would be acceptable  ?
Thank you so much in advance.

The minimum requirement to qualify for a spouse visa is the A1 English listening and speaking test. Yes the marriage certificate needs to be translated and certified by a recognised qualified translator. Your wife will also need to have a TB certificate.
The rest of the documents are down to you.
You can rent what you want but it needs to be big enough for 2 people (you and her). There are some guidelines on the Internet about how big the bedroom needs to be etc and also there needs to be a fully working kitchen and bathroom. Hope this helps

Thank you for your response Ikrah. What does TB stands for ?
I am planning to apply from UK, do I need original documents for my wife or can I use scanned copies  ?
Thank you.
Is there a list of recommended and recognised translater by the British embassy  ?

Tuberculosis (TB)

Ikrah

TB stands for Tuberculosis test. The certificate is valid for 6 months. This certificate and the English one both need to be originals.

Yes there is a list of approved translators you can use in Morocco please refer to the gov website for the contact names and numbers
