Moving to a village near Pau

jsummers57

My name is Janice and my husband and I are going to be spending a lot of time in France from next year. My daughter lives and works in Pau and we are planning to convert the barn attached to her house next year and spend more time in France with her and my grandson. Looking to meet people near Pau to take part in various activities xx

Hello,

My husband and I have owned an apartment in Pau for 8 years and retired here from Boston 2 years ago.  We're very happy with our decision and would be delighted to connect with you.  Are there any activities in particular that you enjoy: cycling, hiking, cooking, etc.? Let us know.

@theresabrown64 We would love to meet up. Our names are Jan and John. I retired over a year ago from nurse education, teaching in Lower Manhattan and my husband John retired from the fire service in July this year. We like to walk, I also ski (intermediate, no steep slopes for me now as I’m getting older). I plan to cycle once my daughter sorts out the bike I shipped over. I’m English and my husband as you probably gathered is American from New Jersey. We are staying here in France until the end of February because our grandson needs to be looked after during some of the holidays. We visit Pau at least once or twice a week via the bus so could meet up in town.

What a small world.  My husband grew up in Pearl River, NY on the New Jersey border near Montvale.  His parents immigrated from Scotland.  Is there a day next week you might be coming in to Pau?  Perhaps we could meet for coffee?

We can come in any day at the beginning of the week. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday? Although Wednesday we would have Rémy with us as he isn’t in school. So meet by the fountain or the carousel on either of those days. The bus gets us into town about 1pm.

Hi Janice,

Let's meet on Monday.  Shall we plan on going somewhere that offers a bite to eat as well since you'll be traveling during the lunch hour?

Hi Theresa,

Okay sounds good! John will be with me too, so where do you want to eat?

Great. John ("JB") will be with me. I was thinking L'Aragon or Beanz, both near Place Clemenceau.  Do you have a preference?  I could make a reservation for us at 1:15 if that works for you.

I don’t mind as we haven’t eaten in either. I am 5’6" with grey/blond hair and John is slim. 6’2" with white/grey hair. Will let you know what we are wearing Monday morning. So you can recognize us.

Good evening,

We'll meet you at L'Aragon at 1:15 tomorrow.  I'm 5'2" with salt & pepper short hair.  John is roughly 5'10" with gray hair.  Looking forward to meeting you.
