Sending mail from my home

gekritzl

In the US, I can put letters in my mailbox in front of my house and flip a red flag up to let the mailman know I have mail to send. There is no little flag on my mailbox in France. Can I send letters by putting them in my mailbox, or do I have to find a La Poste box, or go to the mail office in my little town?

Unless things have changed drastically since I last lived in France, you have to put the letters in a yellow La Poste box or take them to your local Poste.

Thanks, that's what I've been doing (closest mailbox is miles aways). They do have a new thing where you can scan your letter and send it using the internet with laposte.fr
