What kind of visa do you intend to come in France with?

My husband and I are retired Americans, initally arrived with a LSV and now have our Carte de Sejour. Currently living in the South of France and planning to return to Paris permanetly. We lived here before, returned to ship our furniture and belongings and are very happy with our choice to live in France.

Hello,
I'm hoping to move to France with my brother. We are currently based in the U.S. I have no idea where to start, so it's a bit stressful. I have a bachelors degree and so does my brother. I'm not sure where to apply or if any employers would sponsor my visa. Wish there was a guide for this. haha.
One part I know is that i'm going to set up BOA so it would be easier to transfer funds there and establish a bank account. Other than that... help?
Much love,
Amanda.

Receptionist is not a job eligible for a work visa... Moreover, there is an islamophobic wave in the country currently.

Hello, what area your bachleor is??? Also, for a non-european candidate, it is better to have a Master, because there are a lot of French and European who have a Bachelor degree and they are in priority for the job. Employers must prove they do not find French, residents and European able to do the job. However, with a high unemployement rate (9%), they are a lot of people who looks for a position, plus the young graduate.
Finally, for 95% positions you must speak French.

This thread is for you
We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your 做厙輦⑹ story if you are already living in the country,
or to tell us more on your 做厙輦⑹ projects in France if you are planning to move there.
It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.
Welcome on board!
Just joined the forum this week. My husband and I are planning to move to France in spring/summer of 2022. We are interested in the Nantes region as it seems to have a healthy brew of artists and people of various nationalities. Coming from California, we are keen on making sure our social and work circles continue to be a wonderful mix of people and Nantes feels like a good place to start.
Were trying to learn French online quickly and hope it sticks to our aging brains (were both over 40). During the pandemic, we realized it would be nice to have fewer neighbors living right on top of you, so living somewhere in the suburbs or slightly secluded near Nantes would be lovely. Any suggestions on the smaller towns nearby would be most welcome. Though I suspect our mediocre French speaking abilities will create some struggles in more rural areas.
My husband is American. I have both Polish and American passports. Were still trying to work out the details of our job situation as we both work in film and t.v. My husband has been able to work remotely doing post production during the pandemic.
As a filmmaker who is immunocompromised, Ive had to take a break from being indoors with people. Im very interested in perhaps moving into stop motion animation, as the process involves fewer humans than the revolving door of people that regular filmmaking requires. If there are any animators out there (or filmmakers, self-employed artists, etc) Id love to hear from you! Ive been looking at animation studios in France and there dont seem to be any that are specifically focused on stop-motion, like Aardman Animation based in England.
We have 2 cats and zero children. Would love to befriend artists of other disciplines. We definitely need to work on our French so it would be lovely to find people to speak to that are forgiving of our mistakes! Though we need to make sure to find some American 做厙輦⑹ friends, so that we can properly celebrate Halloween!
Ill be posting topics/asking questions in the appropriate sections as 2022 draws closer but just wanted to say hello/bonjour! Apologies for writing such a long introduction, its difficult to know how to introduce yourself to strangers.
Hi
Thank you for the warm welcome.
I am currently living in France as a student and planning to work here after my graduation. I just wanted to make new friends as living here as an 做厙輦⑹ is pretty lonely. I have been here for over a year now.
Thank you
Where are you located? I'm an 做厙輦⑹ American too, currently in Strasbourg and soon to be living in the Toulouse area.
Hi, SadSack,
I'm from California as well, SF Bay Area. My girlfriend girlfriend Dominique and I live in Strasbourg but are in the process of moving to Toulouse (for all intents and purposes we're already there. Just finishing up our packing and then we're outta here on November 23rd). Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions of a bureaucratic nature. Dominique is a fonctionnaire and knows her way around French bureaucracy.
Bob
I am from South Africa, currently living in Champs sur marne.

Thanks Bob! My husband is still working on a show in the U.S. so we cant finalize any plans until that ends! We will certainly be asking a lot of questions in the coming months.
Hello everyone, originally from Cyprus, I've moved a few months ago to Bordeaux. The city is great, really good ambience, looking forward to meeting some nice people in the area.

Hello everyone My boyfriend and I recently moved to Haute Savoie near Thonon Les Bains. I am French, and he is Italian. We lived a year in Italy during COVID, and before that, we lived in London (where we met). Back in France, I still consider myself an 做厙輦⑹, considering my non-conventional path, and because I am originally from Bordeaux I love hiking, being in nature, yoga, and wellbeing/makeup-related stuff. If youd like to chat with me on these topics or look for friends around Thonon, feel free to DM me. Camille
Hello sir greetings, my names are jong Rapheale nda and am new here am in search of a house cleaner job, am a cameroonian by nationality, I have my passport but have no Visa, please can you help me.
Hi Theresa. I've had good success finding tutors on iTalki-dot-com. There are professional teachers on there, as well as people who will just talk with you, correct you, and help build your vocabulary. If you have plenty of time, consider doing language exchanges. I say that because you're spending half your time learning, and half teaching. I like Tandem-dot-net for that. I chat with some people, where usually I type if French and they in English, and we correct each other, and I also have a couple people I talk with an hour each week, one with video and the other just audio. It's a good way to practice, it feels nice to help, and you make friends. Good luck.

My wife and I are considering relocating to France in a year or so, provided that the plague has subsided by then. We plan to make a scouting trip in 2022 to look at possible cities including Nantes, Toulouse, and possibly others.
I expect to have established Irish citizenship before the move so that I will enter France as an EU national.
Good move. I moved to France from the SF Bay Area almost three years ago as a retired dual national (US- Italian) and that made the move so much easier.
