Changes in French schooling hours?

Hi there,
My family and I are seriously considering a move to the Charente this summer but I have just read about the proposed changes by the government to the school hours and wondered if anybody can provide any concrete information please?

I have read that children will now go to school again on a Wednesday and possibly Saturday mornings too.聽 Is this true and can anybody advise on where I can verify this information too please?
