Moving to Paris without a job

wandering_soul

Hi everyone,

I want to live in Paris and have been applying for jobs, mostly teaching.  Unfortunately most seem to want you to already be located in Paris.  I have two years teaching experience, a TEFL qualification and a UK passport.

I am just wondering what my chances of surviving are if I move to Paris without a job but start looking as soon as I get there?

Has anyone done a similar thing?Where are the best places to look for a job?  Cheap areas to live?  Any advice/help much appreciated!

Thanks

Not sure so much about Paris, but for the rest of France I would advise treading carefully, how long could you live without an income? Have you seen the price of renting in Paris? You need to check whether your qualifications are acceptable in France, my advice would be, if you can afford to live for a while without an income, find a job, any job, then try to move on from there. Unemployment is high in France but there are jobs people don't want, abattoirs is a good shout.
