Hello All,

I currently work in France with the European Blue Card (Carte Bleue Europ茅enne). I have been on the card since January. I have heard that people with this work permit are obliged to remain with their eomployer for a minimum of 2 years.

However, I have also heard that some people have suceeded in changing employers after 1 year.

Does anyone have any experience with this as I am considering changig employers for family reasons.

Secondly, has anyone sucessfully applied for citizenship after being on the carte blue and working in France for a minimum of 5 years?

Dear Michael,

I would be cautious if I were you.
there is currently no harmonized practiced within prefecture.
As for citizenship, if you have worked for five years with the european blue card聽 you can certainly apply.

Hello,

I聽 am currently holding an EU Blue card in France. In Germany, Blue card holders can apply for permanent residence after 21/33 months depending on their language skills. Is there a similar provision in France or one should wait for 5 years before applying for Permanent Residence through the blue card?
