I feel frustrated to live in Rennes as well as learn French. :(

GuestPoster289

Sorry for this negative feeling express, but I really do have this feeling.
I start living in Rennes almost 9 months, I tried to join some groups or making friends in Rennes,
but it doesn't work... :'(
Then my OFII French lesson just gets started 2 days before and I have to take 200 hours for A1 level,
I finished my A1 support class in university but the teacher still asked me to join the lesson,
I feel locked by 4 months.
The French teacher isn't friendly at all.

OFII French lesson is my nightmare.
The CLPS staff made mistake to my name serval times even I already sent them an email to correct it.
Second the teacher is lack of teaching experience,
every lesson she just like talking by herself without any explanation.
Even worse, she always wrote down the things but she made mistake very often.
(It's only A1 French level)
It's very not convincing how she can teach for °µÍø½ûÇøs French.
I feel lucky that I went to some courses and study at home before for my French,
otherwise I am pretty sure I can learn almost nothing by that messy and misleading lesson.

The French teacher knows that I took some courses in university for A1 French level but still force me to join the lesson in order to have the certificate to make carte de sejour.

I feel really upset that I can't find a job due to this matter and I tried really hard to meet people but I sill have almost no friends in this city. I dun feel myself should belong here.  :(

It must be difficult to live in Rennes (or anywhere in France!) and not speak French.
If you want to meet for coffee sometime, I would be happy to meet you.  I might be able to help you with your French.
Are you living in the center?

Thank you Phoebe, it is very kind of you!
I can speak French but not very fluent, it's A2 to B1 level.
I'm continue to self study French at home by myself but meanwhile I've the lesson in day time.
I'm living in Rennes and near by the center.

I dun think it's easy to find a part time job in Rennes if you only know English.
Unless you're English native, it may help.

HI, French language is not an easy one so you will have to be patient and go on working hard to get there ... but with time you'll manage I am sure of it.
In the mean time I think it is wise to accept any help out here so that over time you can make that dream of yours come true.
Phoebe2 is proposing her help ...
If ever you get stuck, I might be able to help you out in a different way .... we are looking for a voluntary helper. You learn French in the mean time and help us with daily life stuff.
No matter what you do, you have a dream, go for it because you will not regret in the end !!!!
Did you get your carte de séjour in the mean time ?

Thank you. I tried to contact Phoebe2 but she may busy and not reply.
That's kind to leave a reply through.
I dunno.... I tried to find job or move to a bigger city but it doesn't work because of the lockdown again.
My visa is going to expire this year but I still dun get my titre de sejour even for RDV.
I feel hopeless to live in France...

Hi, I was reading your post and the reactions  .... it is not easy indeed to learn the language, especially when you need to make sure you can pay the bills ...
Is there not a way for you to stay with a french family or so until your French speaking is better and your "titre de séjour" is ok ?

Thank you for your reply.
I tried to make my tirtre de séjour but even RDV I can't get it and no any news.
No matter I sent email or mail still no updated, only an auto reply is asking me to ask the paper which I have already done.
I used some websites to learn French online, to me making the paper here is much more difficult than self learning French...

streetboy123

I guess they don't easily give them out ...
In any case, if ever I can help you out with your French or other, feel free to ask :)

Yes, I think that's not easy to get it.
I'm learning French online and there're so many resources and I keep learning French everyday.
Thank you for your kindness.
