Vocational Education in Germany

dahman

Hello everyone,
This is my first post here and I hope you can help me :)
My name is Ahmed, from Egypt. I'm starting a new career as lathe operator and would like to get vocational training in Germany.
I have been searching online for days now but lack of knowledge of the German institutes stands between me and my goal.

I still don't even know what this type of academic institution is called in Germany, is it called Trade school, Career college or community college?

I have found a company that offers vocational training (Ausbildung) and here is the link:

I would like to know if that kind of education available for international students and if there is a directory or something alike that can help.
Also I'm 28 years old, don't know if that affects it or not. I already have a workshop and have built CNC router for woodworking with basic CNC programming knowledge but without any formal education, just Google and Youtube.

Thank you very much for your kind concern.

Regards,
Ahmed

Hello friends everywhere,

I thought adding more information could make it clearer what I'm after and looking for.
In Germany there are several types of education institutes.
Trade schools are for those who have finished their high school and would like to learn a profession, skill or trade without going too much into theoretical academic research.
For Example, a person may apply for a vocational school (berufsschule) to be automotive maintenance technician (a mechanic) after maybe two years of workshop training and hands-on experience.
To make it even more clearer, here is an example but from Canada.
The Georgian College offers two years Diplomas in many fields.
This is the one that I'm interested in (CNC Machining):

The college also offers courses in welding, carpentry and plumbing.

I think I made my goal clear now, I'm looking for a college in Germany (like the Georgian College in Canada) that offers courses like the above mentioned.

What I like about this kind of education is that it's a direct path to certain industries. The cool part comes when you have a related part-time employment while studying, you are not wasting time but in fact you are almost doing assignments that help with with your study.

Hope this makes it clearer now ;)

Thanks for stopping by and reading my post and look forward for some help.

Warmest regards,
Ahmed
