Visiting student (NON-EU) in Germany

Tural Mamedov

Hi everyone. I am a student in Milan and have a valid residence permit here. But, I have NON-EU citizenship.  I would like to do my master's degree thesis in Dresden which will take at least 6 months. So, I want to know that is it possible to live with this residence permit in Germany ? if it is impossible, how can I get the permit?
Thanks in advance.

Having residency in Italy means you can visit Germany, visa free,  for up to 90 days in a row and then you have to leave for at least 90 days. You do not simply get German residency. You should apply for a study visa for the time you will study. If you are accepted to a German University this should not be a problem unless you have a criminal record.

Actually, it is a research center. But, in this case it doesn't matter. Anyway I have to get visa. Thank you for information.
