Hello!

My husband and I moved from New York City to Greece last April and are looking for a place to settle and call home. I am acting as our scout and am arriving in Naxos on Friday with plans to continue to Paros afterwards. We are retired, so not looking for work, but are interested in you, those who live in Naxos or Paros , possible villages to live in, how summer tourism impacts your lives, the extent of winter life, how your experiences have been in blending in with the local culture, etc.

We already have our bureaucratic world figured out, I lived in Greece from 1990-1996 and get by speaking Greek, and my husband and I have traveled in Greece a lot, so we aren鈥檛 newbies to the culture.

Hello everyone,

Since my first visit to Greece in 1995 on a study abroad program, I have wanted to move there. That just hasn't happened yet, so I've settled for continuing to learn and practice my Greek and visit as often as possible. My husband and I are looking to buy a house in Greece sometime in the next few years, though, and finally move there (at least part-time) once I retire. I'm looking forward to connecting with and learning from others on this forum. Thank you!

Greetings everyone!聽 My name is Dave,聽 I visited Greece back in 2000 while on a port visit with the US Navy.聽 I have wanted to get back ever since.聽 I am a Telecom OSP Engineer, specializing in Fiber Optic network design.聽 I have raised my children (2 wonderful daughters) and they are adults now so I am considering taking the leap and moving abroad.

Hello All,

We are Canadians that went to Greece for a wedding May 2023 and then kept postposing our return. We ended up staying until Aug 2023, we left with a bunch of oregano, a couple of Tshirts聽 and a shiny new condo in Alimos.

We are in the process of attaining citizenship via the parental route, Golden Visa is another path but not our preference.

Lots of insights on this site, glad it exists
