Hello Shaun,look on line at information about the....ETIAS.....visa which all British citizens will need so as to travel into Europe,I believe it is valid for three years and is applied for on line fairly easily.It started Jan this year as an option but is a must from Jan twenty two I think.You are allowed multiple entries.The Shengen visa will then not be required as well as,but you will find out more on line.

I believe the Etias still only allows for 90 days. I'm thinking 365 days possibly 1/2/3 years renting.

No need specific Visa for Uk residents if they don't work in Greece ;-)

If you make Greece your tax home you will get a residence permit plus 50% tax discount. The law is new and you can find out more from the Greek Embassy or Consular authorities in your country, alternatively your Embassy in Greece. Google could, possibly, provide information.

You have right Shaun,the ETIAS is only for ninety days,short of running over the time/days and hiding in a mountain village in paradise or on an island I dont know how one can stay,maybe just apply for a residence permit,if one proves financially stable,dosh in the bank,medical cover,why not?

Hello Shaun. I'm a new member of this forum and like you am thinking to move to Greece from UK  in a nearest future. I was checking lots of info and found out that:
1. The Brits don' t need a visa for travel/visiting for 90 days
2. If we want to stay longer we need to apply to a visa FIP  as  financial independent persons.
3. This  visa is for 2 years.
4.  Move to Greece and from there you can apply for residency before your FIP visa expired.
5. Your savings should be moved to Greece and you will need 2k per month, 48k EUR in total to show.
6. Unfortunately there is a banking risk with your savings taking into account poor economic situation.

7. Also, it's not clear for me how to move money to Greece and to avoid being taxed on this 'income'. We should do it after July, so we are not tax resident for a particular year?

90 days it’s plenty for vacation ...go to Crete in the harsh winter months and short 6 months later you can do it again...no need for all the bureaucratic Mickey Mouse
