Coming to Athens - need a heads up on where to live

littlebullet

Hello everyone,

right I am coming to Athens for a few months this summer. Plan is to do a Greek language course - I'm half greek from London and my Greek isn't up to scratch - and enjoy a bit of culture, nightlife, food etc. I'm looking for a flatshare or a room in student housing, basically something fairly lively. What area is best if you're looking to be central lots going and if possible on a budget?

I am in Germany at the moment and we have toytowngermany which organizes nights out and gettogethers etc. for english speaking people is there something similar going on this forum or elsewhere?

Thanks!

well it depends on ur budget ?? what are u up to paying for rent
there's nice areas but expensive like GLYFADA ( near the sea) or Kifisia
then average areas but not bad ones are Dafni , Agios Dimitrios, Neos Kosmos, Kallithea. ( you can find rent rate: 450 Eu for two small bedroom appartment
and around 350 - 400 Eu for a one bedroom appt
hope this helps u
