new to athens

brody

Hi guys, introducing myself here !I have been living here like 5 months now, but still not really settled yet.
I'm half geek- from Toronto Canada, but my dad is from Nousa near Thessaloniki, but I have family in athens so I have been visiting  Greece off and on for many years,

My aunt freed up her apartment not far from Acropolis in Koukaki, and gave me an amazing deal...so i just thought I would try it out, as I have always loved Athens, and the lifestyle here.

I teach Stott Pilates and I'm currently  doing my apprenticeship in Athens for Gyrotonic and Gyrokenesis ( hard to explain but there are videos on youtube if you are interested)

anyway I really love Athens, obviously there are things that annoy me, ( the lack of respect for the environment is a biggie) but overall I love the atmosphere and the people really know how to enjoy life!

SOOOoo if anybody wants to meet up for coffee sometime let me know ! as I have been so busy I haven't really had time to make the effort to get to know some new people.

i have a wide range of interests, from psychology, mythology to hitting the beach.
and im on FB also ( i hate facebook- alas it is convenient - my profile is my old dj name: Brodyn June, havent changed it due to privacy issues)   but my real name is Christina.

anyway nice to meet you all, hope you are all bearing up in these tough economic times!
of course if anyone lives near me and wants a good deal on pilates lessons ( i charge less because my reformer and equipment is at home not at a studio)

let me know, I can teach a little in Greek also, but warning you it is not that good yet, on my list..greek school!
xChristina

So happy to hear gyrotonics/kinesis might be available there--hoping to move to Athens soon and would miss indulging my gyro habit...

Would love to know more about your experiences getting settled there.  I don't speak Greek and I am wondering how big a problem that will be...
