Learning Icelandic

Devilfish

Hey, what's a good place to learn Icelandic in Reykjavik? I'm interested in learning the basic stuff in a period of under 3 months.

Btw I just found out about the site below, does anyone know something about it?

Thank you!

you can teach yourself here at this site created by the university of Iceland. I did this before I came and found it was quite useful:

otherwise the usual places people go to learn Icelandic (in Reykjavík) are

university of Iceland:

³¾Ã³¾¾±°ù:

International cultural center:

I took classes at the continuing education branch of the university but they don't seem to offer the courses anymore from what I can tell.

I've never heard of your site. Most people I know who're learning Icelandic are doing it along with work or studies and can't devote that much time to the language study. Can't say much about their web design though :)

Thank you very much! I have another question regarding this subject. I come from a country that's listed as one that does not need a visa to travel to Iceland for a period of no longer than three months. If i'm accepted for a masters degree in a University for the Autumn Semester, and my Resident permit starts in July or August, Could I travel as a tourist and learn the language like around February or March, or would that interfere with something in my permit?
