Looking for a friend/family in Iceland for a 2 week trip

Hi,
I am a 34 year old聽 male living in USA , originally from Nepal.
I just love this tiny, beautiful nation.
I want to come there for visit, see places, meet people, make friends.
My sole purpose of writing here is to find a friend/family in Iceland who could host me for my stay or give me suggestions of places to see, or go on a trip with me(will bear the expenses).
I don't want to come there via a guided tour, which might be a last resort.
Any information on how to contact or make friend in Iceland would really be helpful.

I recommend you try the couchsurfing website. There are locals who are interested in hosting tourists there.
