Questions about taxes:

rubicon00

I'm interested in living in Ireland as an early-retiree so I needn't find work, but would like to volunteer my time/skills. Questions about taxes:
do you pay taxes on rentals?
do you pay income taxes from your original country (the US)does Ireland also require taxes from you, too - if you remain full time in Ireland?
Those two questions are key and I would appreciate your input.
Thanks,
R.

Hello,

You pay tax from any income. If you are renting some place, you can get support from government.

Yes, Ireland requires you to pay taxes, look for bilateral agreeemtn us-ireland, you can reclaim taxes back, one income can not be taxed twice. Also even if you will pay zero taxes, you will have to fill your tax papers.
