MBAgrad02

I am a thirteen year veteran teacher in Texas . What would I need to do to teach high school history, economics or business courses in Ireland?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Ireland is now controlling work visas via a Highly Skilled Occupations List; this will take you to the Irish Government website that deals with the matter.  Teaching is one of those "Highly Skilled Occupations", so assuming you can find a job, as a USA citizen, you don't need a visa to live and work in Ireland; this explains the process you have to go through.

As an overseas qualified teacher, if you wish to teach in Ireland, you will need to register with the Irish Teaching Council and your qualifications will need to be verified by them; this will take you to their website.

I wish you the best of luck in your journey.

Hope this helps.
