I am also a single female hoping to retire to in Italy.聽 And very limited Italian (with a permanent Pimsleur subscription!) I have been checking out the area around Cortona--know one couple there--and Umbria.聽 "Above Rome" was the recommendation I received as the infrastructure was more developed.聽 I'll be going back this November (figured I should experience the rainy season) to explore the local and regional buses.聽 I would appreciate hearing any tips you learn.

Good morning madam, that is a very good idea taking your retirement back to Italy, Italy bis a very good and homefull place, and for my advice, I think the southern part of the country is the best for retirement and to enjoy your vacations.
