hi.. just a question regarding carta soggiorno.聽 my friend has carta soggiorno but she has been residing in the US for more than 2 years now.聽 can she still visit Italy?

The relevant situations where a carta soggiorno illimitato can be revoked are:

聽 You have acquired it fraudulently.
聽 An expulsion measure has been adopted against you.
聽 You no longer fulfil the requirements set for its issue.
聽 You have been absent from the territory of the European Union for a period of 12 consecutive months.
聽 You have acquired long-term resident status in another European Union member State
聽 You have been absent from Italy for a period exceeding 6 years.

So, I suspect her residence permit is no longer valid and that she will be required to comply with the visa requirements applicable to her nationality; my advice is to contact the Italian authorities and check.
