How to choose a school in Luxembourg?

Lauranne

Hi everyone!

When moving to a new country with children, choosing the right school for them becomes a priority. In Luxembourg, the options are numerous, which is both a great advantage and a real headache! 😅

There is the Luxembourgish system, which is free and requires children to learn 4 languages. Some state schools also offer international or European tracks, which is really interesting. Of course, there are also private schools like the European School, international schools such as ISL, OTR, or Saint George’s School. If you prefer the French system, there’s Lycée Vauban and École Sainte Sophie… And I’m not even mentioning alternative systems like Montessori or Eis Schoul! 😅

Even though the list of schools is available on the , I find the choice still complicated...

How did you decide on your children’s school? 🤔  What were your criteria? Are you satisfied with your choice? If you had to do it again, what would you have liked to know beforehand to make the best decision?

Thanks to everyone for your feedback!
